One of the peculiar characteristics of Nord Italy is the presence of a mix between tradition and innovation. Wherever we go we find magnificent palaces, castles and villas together with roads, factories and state-of-the-art installations, with a harmony between Nature and Technology unparallel in the world. This characteristic becomes even more evident in Modena, home to some of the legends of technology, like Ferrari and Lamborghini, in the middle of architectonic treasures and a cuisine worthy of the best Italian tradition. At the center of the Po Valley and at just 40 kilometers from Bologna, Modena is not difficult to reach and promises to be another outstanding destination for our incentive activities.

A heart made of history and tradition

The center of the city offers some of the most significant testimonies of the magnificence of the Duchy and of the Lords of Este, with the famous Piazza Grande. Here we find the Cathedral of the city, a joint work of the great architect Lanfranco and of the master sculptor Wiligelmo, considered one of the finest examples of the Romanesque style. Then, we find the Palazzo Comunale, built in different phases since the Middle Age, the very famous Torre Ghirlandina, one of the icons of the city, and the Palazzo Ducale, built by Bartolomeo Avanzini. A heart made of culture and tradition that we would like to discover with you with our format Street Orienteering: equipped with a map, the participants have to reach the finish line while exploring the magnificent monuments of the city.

Always in the city we find the Museum Casa Enzo Ferrari (MEF), inaugurated in 2012 in the birthplace of the great Italian entrepreneur, integrated with multimedia material and old family heirlooms. In Maranello, instead, a few kilometers from the city, we find the Ferrari Museum, with the exposition of the most significant cars of the carmaker, to retrace the history of its most important successes. Let’s also remember the Lamborghini Museum at Sant’Agata Bolognese, not far away from Maranello, with its exposition of the super luxury sport cars. Modena offers an extraordinary menu, with delicacies no less legendary than Ferrari. Let’s remember, for example, the Prosciutto of Modena, one of the best Italian hams, and the famous Tortellini, the first course for excellence. Among the second courses let’s remember the Zampone, ground pork meat stuffed in the skin of a pig’s trotter, the lord of our Christmas menu. Among the cheeses we find the legendary Parmigiano Reggiano, ever-present part of our daily diet, while among the wines we find the Lambrusco, our faithful companion in many parties and receptions. Let’s also remember the specialty of the place, the Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, unparallel in the world.
